ORB LOCK had been one of the most innovative projects I worked on. As the design changed many times during its longer than usual life in production. I was able to take the time and learn quite a bit about bringing higher poly 3D assets into After Effects and animate them in Element 3D.
A much earlier version with a gold dragon was announced at G2E in 2018. The art that I compiled to illustrate this game in my portfolio has been a combination of old and new that I have really become fond of and does not depict finale game design nor artwork.
WILD WAVE was by far the best project I worked on for two reasons, the first was having the privilege to team up with one of the leading animators in film today who was able to bring this game to life with his talented skill set.
As well as being able to get back to 3D asset creation, especially having the chance to design a fun character from rough concept on paper to a final high poly model.
EMPEROR'S FROG this project was a team effort. I was assigned to create a clone from a project already in the works. With the Asian theme, symbols, and game play already created by another team member. Being able to just focus on the background, lucky frog, and a growing pile of coins was a relief from taking on a whole project and allowed for added attention to details in the fast turn around this game required.
I really enjoyed having created nearly every asset in 3D and trying to push the quality level and my own skill set from previous games for this studio.
LINDY HOP was a game idea that intended to share characters with FOX TROT, it was a fun 2D game inspired by the classic casinos in town and the old west feel around the countryside of Reno, NV. When it came to picking flowers for symbols. I made sure to choose ones that were native to the desert landscape.
SMOKING HOT STUFF JACKPOTS was an excellent project because I was able to reuse much of the existing Hot Stuff 2D character animation created for an earlier game. It gave me a chance to jump into learning 3D Element within After Effects and pushed for the 2D-3D look that I would like to think helps separates it from the many other Hot Stuff titles.
FUXUAN 88 is a smaller version of the stacking reels that the original and successful FuXaun was. The original art and design was handed off by a wonderful Art lead we had at the studio. I had room on this project to polish and add my own touches but this is definitely a team effort regardless.
FOX TROT was my first casino game project. The basis for the game was the art test I took for the company while living in Seattle. Once hired, I was able to develop this game using the cute Desert Fox concept.
I was fortunate to have an excellent producer and mentor during the development of this game because as green as I might have been he was incredibly helpful in giving me the side by side knowledge and experience I needed to grow in the gaming field.
